I find it good

Can you say that, "I find it good"? As a substitute for "I like it", for example, when someone asks you a question about how you like something. Is that something a native speaker would say, because I think I never heard it from them.

geoyo Can you say that, "I find it good"? As a substitute for "I like it", Is sounds very old-fashioned, almost Biblical. There may be contexts in which it is natural, though none springs to mind.

Thank you, Mister Micawber. It's so interesting to hear an opinion from a native speaker about this. What is it that makes this expression old fashioned, is it the "I find it ..." prefix alone, or its usage together with "good"? If so, could you replace "good" with another word like "great" or "awesome" to make it sound more natural?

It's 'I find it...' . It is stilted unless in a more formal context, e.g. 'I find it difficult to balance my income and my expenditures.'

But what about "I find it interesting"? That is a quite common expression, isn't it? I have heard it a lot, as opposed to "I find it good".

It is rather formal. I don't think you'll hear anyone say it unless they are on the edge(challenging, doubtful, etc.).

I think I get what you mean. I observed that "I find it interesting" is often in connection with something bad, e.g. an accusation or correction made to someone, as opposed to "I find it interesting" as a response to a question such as "How did you like it". Is that correct?

geoyo Is that correct?
Yes, I think that's what I'm trying to say.
