I don't understand this usage of "relic"

This is what I saw:

"I keep my six-year old razor for this very reason, but I

understand that the large majority of people are not dust-collecting relics like me!"

This is a reply on Facebook where someone shares a picture of a broken i-phone that he broke accidentally.

I suppose the reply says that he doesn't want to throw away his six-year-old broken razor blade b/c it is expensive.

But what I don't understand is, why would he describe himself as a dust-collecting relic anyhow?

That's not a word that is applicable to describe a person in my opinion.
