I don't understand this phrase.

So I posted a photo of me wearing my shirt buttoned up all the way to the top. (to my neck), I was inspired by an actor, when I thought about doing it like that. So I tagged his intstagram account to my post. He commented: get it done bud.

It sound as something positive, but what does he mean exactly. The native americans/british people would know the answer on this I bet. I hope it is not anything negative, because he's a very nice guy.

Oh and would it be okay to reply: thanks man! ( in other words, does it make sense to put this as a reply)

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, you posted a photo of yourself with your shirt buttoned all the way up to your neck - like a certain actor, apparently American, does - and you alerted this actor to your post. He then sent you the message: "get it done bud."

Literally, this phrase means "do it bud." So literally this seems to mean that he is applauding your photo. However, my impression
