I don't understand this

"When this punk starts to talk to save his skin, he will lead the investigators all the way THE RABBIT HOLE to us."
I don't understand the purpose of having the noun "rabbit hole" here at all.
What does it mean?
Thank you in advance.

You have probably misquoted this:

"When this punk starts to talk to save his skin, he will lead the investigators all the way DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE to us."

The phrase "down the rabbit hole" is from Lewis Carrol's book "Alice in Wonderland" where Alice is led down a rabbit hole into a strange and weird world. All kinds of crazy beings live there, and there are magic mushroo
