I don't understand ''thanks to''

Hi Teacher!

I have a problem about the meaning of thanks to.I am confused ; Can we use this phrases in negative sentences?

''When i tried to do my homework,my sister disturbed me so thanks to my sister i couldn't do my homework..

If i say this sentences; Am i reproaching to my sister and speaking sarcastically of her??..i mean ;Do i want to tell my sister;

You came my room (maybe she spoke a lot) and disturbed me so i couldn't do homework--Thank you so much!!!

Could you explain it?
