I don't think I can carry well in this dress

Hi teachers,

I hear a lot of this expression when customers are trying on dresses. Maybe it's too bald to wear something like that. Is this "carry" a natural expression in American?

"to carry well in a dress" is not at all natural. Nobody says such things. It's certainly not American.

Did you mean "bold"? Because "bald" means "having no hair", as in "a bald man".

It can, but that usage is not as likely as the meaning 'to move with a certain posture'.

"carries himself well" ~ walks with good posture.

I found this in an on-line dictionary:

to hold (oneself) in a certain way He carries himself like a soldier.

No. It means his physical movements (such as when walking) - or even his posture when standing in place - remind you of a soldier. (I suppose that is acting like a soldier in a limited way, but it doesn't include all his actions.)
