I don't recognize her

Can you use recognize when talking about something other than looks?
How would you phrase the whole thing please?
That's more like her. I didn't recognize these last few days. She wasn't her. She was sick and not herself.

Thanks

Yes, you can recognize a person by the way they write, speak, dress, their attitude, and their work. When a person’s behaviour changes due to illness or anger, we say that she is not herself. When she recovers, she is more like her (old) self.
