I don't like her much

Hi teachers! I have many questions nowadays.


I just came across #1 sentence and wonder is it grammartical since I used to say "that much" not just "much" like in #2.


1. I don't like her much.

2. I don't like her that much.

These are both fine.

"that much" can mean "very much", or (with "that" emphasised) it can mean to an extent previously suggested. For example:

A: Why don't you invite her over to your house for dinner?
B: I don't like her that much!
