I don't get what is idiomatic phrase.

Beginning photographers may choose from among several camera types, ( Input Answer Choice ) best for their particular interests.

A. there is one which is
B. of which there is one
C. one of which is
D. and one is
E. one is

Choice (C) is correct. It avoids the error of the original by providing an idiomatic phrase to modify "several camera types."

This SAT question bothers me... I don't get what it means by idiomatic phrase from the answer explanation..
I don't get why C is correct answer, because there's no conjunction that connect the two clauses together. Even through it sounds wrong and it's wrong, Choice D would make more senses to me.

Anyone want to clarify to me ?
