I don't get this sentence

"I do errands for my mother. The ones she allows I might be capable of doing."

What does the second sentence mean?

Is it supposed to be "The one she allows are the ones I might be capable of doing"?

Top answer

allows here has the somewhat old-fashioned meaning of agrees/admits/concedes/thinks The ones she thinks I might be capable of doing.
