"I don't believe such thing to exist." Is this sentence wrong?

00This sentence comes from my dictionary, but I found it kind of weird. I've ask other people they say that it should be "I don't believe such a thing exists." May I ask is it true that the above sentence is wrong/a bad sentence?02br

01i00I 01b00believe02b00 01u00him02u00 01b01font00to have passed02font02b00 the exam.02i02br
02br
00This one comes from my another dictionary. I'm still doubtful about its correctness. If this is correct, then can I say "01i00I believe him 01b00to pass02b00 the exam.02i00"? (That's the same structure as the above one)02br

00Please give me your opinion, thank you!!0-

00It is uncommon, but it's really not all that different from "I don't want this thing to exist." (different verb, different adjective) You can even let both these adjectives act as pronouns, and omit the "thing." "I don't want this to exist." "I don't want such to exist."02br

I believe that the correct way to say it would be "I believe he has passed the exam."

Also, it should be "such a thing exists"
