Grammar

I Do vs. I Have

Hello,

Could you please help me with this? Thank you.

John: I hope I've got the right idea.
A. Mary: Yes, you do.
B. Mary: Yes, you have.

1. Was 'have got' above used as simple present which is equivalent to 'have', ie. I hope I have the right idea?
2. If the answer to #1 is yes , would you say A is the correct response by Mary?
3. If 'have got' above was used as present perfect, would you say B is the correct response by Mary?

4. Which below is the correct response to 'Have you got a pen?'?
5. If both are possible, which is more natural?

C. Yes, I do.
D. Yes, I have.

Thank you, Mister Micawber.

I see all are natural responses.
But based on the grammar in concord with the questions, do you think B and C are more appropriate?

I hope I've got the right idea.
B. Yes, you have.
Have you got a pen?
C. Yes, I do.

I believe that I've already said that I see them all as equally possible utterances. By me, certainly.

I do understand, but I'm answering some multiple choice grammar questions, which ask for one best answer. However, it doesn't necessarily make the other choices incorrect as I've understood your explanation.

Thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate it.
