Are are both of the following sentences correct? If they are, then what is the difference in their meaning?

1: I do respect him but that does not mean that I respect you less than I respect him.

Both are correct, not really much difference in either. 2 is more likely to be heard in conversation, whereas 1 is more likely to be seen written, however, that is by no means a rule.
