I do not know.

A: Is there a drugstore around here? B: Not that I know of. C: I do not know. I am sorry about dragging this out, but I would like to know if B's reply sounds better or more humble than C's reply? I think that it is not a matter of humility or either one is more humble or better? Thank you so much as always.

Hans51 I would like to know if B's reply sounds better or more humble than C's reply? I sense no such difference, or any at all, really. We would normally say I don’t know , not I do not know.

Aspara Gusor any at all, really.
Thank you so much, and what dose this mean? Do you mean even the meanings of them are the same or do you just not feel such difference I mentioned?

Thank you so much as usual.

Yes.

or any at all, really. = In fact, I don't sense a difference at all.

I see a big difference.

Not that I know of = I *do* have an opinion, and my belief is that the answer is no. Or "I think there isn't." I know where the move theater is, the news stand, a bunch of shoe stores... but I don't think there is a drug store near here.

I don't know = I have no knowledge of the answer. Maybe I'm not from here.
