I didn't win the university's Most Popular Professor contest three times by

Ken. Call me Ken. I didn't win the university's Most Popular Professor contest three times by making my students call me "Professor." Here you go, son. (Ken slaps a "Vote for Ken" sticker on Nathan.)

My question is "did Ken win the contest or not?" If yes, why does the above statement say "I didn't ...?" Thanks.
