i did or i've done?

hey everyone its been a long time since im trying to find out the answer to the question below

imagine that im showing you my car and then im saying - my friend did the paint (to the car)

so whether do i say "i did" or "i've done" ?

please could someone explain this to me?
i would really appreciate it

Can't we simply say "My friend (has) painted this car", or if you really want to stick to the two mentioned above, you may say "My friend have has done this paint" doesn't sound very good though.

Can't we simply say "My friend (has) painted this car", or if you really want to stick to the two mentioned above, you may say "My friend have has done this paint" doesn't sound very good though.
