I could have sworn

I imagine someone knocking on the door.
A: "Did someone just knock on the door?"
B:" No, I didn't hear anything"
A: " I could have sworn I had heard someone just now.

Yes, it's grammatically correct, but I really wouldn't bother with "had", and I don't think anybody else would either.
