Here's a a dialogue from the movie "Hotel Mumbai". I never head the expression: I spaced


A: Just a regular cheeseburger, please. With beef.

B: Honey, they don't serve beef here.

A: I'm sorry, I completely spaced.


Does it simply mean to space out? As in... be inattentive or distracted?
