I can't wrap my head around the phrase " It’s learning to let go"

Can any one help me?

I have an outstanding leadership team. It’s learning to let go and really empowering people at all levels of the organisation, and trusting them to doing the right thing.

"let go" apparently means "let go of power/control", i.e. relinquish power/control.
