"I can't stop feeling 'this way/in this way'" are both proper?

I hear native speakers often omit using proposition for the followings

I have an appointment with him this saturday instead of saying on this saturday

I can stop feeling this way instead of saying in this way

which one is more colloquial and why? thank you!
