I can't explain..

Hello everyone, I'm a Korean English learner. When I saw following sentence, I could understand the meaning but I couldn't grammatically explain this part " , the son of a fisherman or something" because there is no conjuntion, no relative, and no noun that I can assum the apposition. Please help me.~

To hear him speak, you would think he grew up on the East Coast, the son of a fisherman or something.
