I can't do anything right by you?

I heard this when I was watching a drama.

There are a girl and a guy,
and she comes to his flat for help.
She starts talking about her problems
and he says she can stay at his for the night
if she wants to, and he's giving her this chance
because he's worrying about her.
But she take it so wrong and gets angry, saying,
"You're still coming on to me!"
And he says,
"I can't do everything right by you!"

I'm guessing that the sentence could be paraphrased,
"You think I'm always doing wrong, do you?!"
I can't figure out the reason,
but it seems kinda possible to me.

So I'd like you to tell me exactly what it means
and how the meaning comes from the words or the context.

Always thankful to you all for great help. Emotion: smile

I would expect the sentence to be I can't do anything right by you , and your interpretation is more or less correct. " If he did say I can't do everything right by you it would mean " I can't do everything you want/need me to do for you ", but this doesn't fit the context very well.

Blue JayI can't do anything right by you,
You're right, it was 'anything' not 'everything'.
I made a silly mistake.
Thanks for mentioning it!

I'm making subtitles and your explanation is quite a big help!
I've copied yours into a text file.

I hope you'll be giving me great help some other time!
