I can't begin to understand this?

Hi! everyone.
I was devouring a newspaper when suddenly I found myself confused about the below sentence. Please help me out with it.
"Exports should be made against irrevocable letter of credit or a contract with 25% advance."
Now in the above sentence I don't know why the word "against" is used?
Thanks!
