I can't be prouder of you.

Hi

Is this a completely natural utterance?

(Father to son on the announcement of his result..)

Marvellous! I can't be prouder of you.

Thanks,

Tom

More natural would be

'I couldn't be prouder of you.'

Thanks, Rover. One more question.

Don't native speakers use "marvellous" this way? I mean, when they something extraordinary or when something takes their breath away.

A- How is this new painting of mine?
B- Simply marvellous.

(Looking at someone's act of stunt)

Marvellous!

Some do. Some prefer other words or phrases.
