I can smell autumn in the air

The morning here is getting cooler and cooler; I can smell/feel autumn in the air.

The morning here is getting nicer and nicer; I can feel autumn is on its way here.

Hi,

I wrote the above, but I'm not sure whether both are right. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

After a hot summer, I guess that waking to to cooler mornings would make them nicer mornings, but not everyone enjoys the cold season of winter (which follows autum, of course) so not everyone say it gets "nicer" as it gets "cooler."
