It's acceptable, but you might compare it with the following version:

Like you, I live in a small, boring city.

Generally, "like" goes with just a (pro)noun, "as" goes with a clause (with a verb).

As you can see from the version that I wrote, there is no need for "as" and a verb in your sentence.
