Letter Writing

I appreciate your input on my internship application letter

0 Dear Dr. ***, 02br
02br
00RE: Internship for the period *** to YY 02br
02br
00I am interested in applying for an internship position for the period *** to YY. 02br
02br
00I will be undertaking a sixteen month Joint European Masters programme in *** at YY beginning ***. The programme is a multi-lingual, inter-university, multidisciplinary postgraduate programme offered ***. These are A,B,C and D (I´ve named the various universities that are part of the programme) 02br
02br
00The programme will cover taught modules in International Law, International Institutions in Humanitarian Emergencies, Management of Humanitarian Action, Transformation from Humanitarian Assistance to Development, Public Health, Conflict, Disaster and Peace building, Comprehensive Security, Ethics and Gender. As the programme seeks to combine theoretical and practical learning, students are required as part of the programme to serve an internship from *** to YY with an organisation or institution working in Humanitarian Affairs. 02br
02br
00It is my aspiration to work in the field of Conflict Resolution and Management upon the completion of my studies. As a (my nationality) I have been fortunate not to have experienced first hand the devastating effect of war that some of our neighbours have and continue to. Over the years has (my country) been home to many refugees as a result. While working for *** in YY, I volunteered as an English teacher at a refugee project. This personal contact together with their heart breaking experiences and loss made it clear that the solution lay in preventing the escalation of conflicts leading to war and displacement. 02br
02br
00Sadly conflicts which often have their genesis in differences of ethnicity, race and religion continue to abound in many regions of the world. It is therefore my belief that my internship with your office will help me gain a better understanding of their underlying causes efforts to resolve and/or manage them and importantly the prevention of their degeneration into the terrible crime of Genocide. 02br
02br
00Find attached my resume for your perusal. 02br
02br
00I look forward to hearing from you. 02br
02br
00Yours sincerely, 0-

0 Hi, and wow, such an interesting program! Many languages, many disciplines… sounds just fine. Maybe you can help me find an internship in Europe; so hard knowing only English to integrate successfully in a multi lingual context.
