Here's the question:

Technology is becoming increasingly prevalent in the world today. In the not too distant future, technology will completely replace the teacher in the classroom. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Here's my opinion essay:

The application of technology is being widely and rapidly spread throughout the globe on the present day. Even though its advance can significantly contribute to education, I strongly refute the idea that humanoid robots or machines will entirely take over the roles of teachers in class, regardless virtual or real class. Analyzing the inability of a mechanical model to both cater to student learning needs and instills motivation will show this.

Firstly, a machine would be incapable of observing and adjusting to the demands of a classroom of students. For instance, one of the world's most modern robots, Honda Asimove, cannot interpret human basic gestures. Therefore, machines will have difficulty understanding students' behaviours in class and delivering lectures. Thus, despite the current advanced technology, it will take a long time before a robotic teacher can follow what is happening in a classroom setting.

Moreover, a robot would be unable to inspire learners. Recent American scientific theories of education have shown that students learn much faster when they have a spiritual support from their teacher. Particularly, young children express their emotions in response to human attention and encouragement, not a machine-driven teacher. Therefore, there is a need for a teacher in class; otherwise, students would learn more slowly.

In summary, an automated teacher would be short of flexibility as well as emotional intelligence needed to be an effective instructor. Hence, a class run entirely by machines would not be doable anytime soon. Thus, modern technology will not completely substitute for human teachers in the foreseeable future.
