I am selected/I have been selected

Hi ,

Someone is asking me/I am telling to others about my interview status what should I say from the below and how does the usage differs.

I am selected in the interview.

I have been selected in the interview.

They both mean the same thing, but "I have been selected" is more natural in this context.

There's a small logic question. There's only one interview. Were several applicants being screened simultaneously?

Are you thinking of it like, "The company is holding an interview for this position" ? Usually, we'd say "The company is holding interviews / interviewing for
