I am heading or I am headed

Hi,

A guy was driving to his friend house and said "I am headed up your block. Open up the gate." on the phone.

What does "I am headed up" mean? Is that the same idea of "I am heading to"?

What is the difference?

Thanks,

Ryo

Yes, the same meaning. One is a progressive verb and the other is a predicate adjective: two ways to say the same thing.
