"I am / get happy"

I know that "I am happy" and "I get happy" are different, but I am not sure if "I was dumped by her" and"I got dumped by her" have different meanings? What do you native English think? Thank you so much as always.

The 'get-passive' often means the same as the be-passive, but it usually reflects the initial action of becoming the condition that the be-passive represents.

It seems in some cases they can be different. In this case, I sense no difference in meaning but in emphasis.
