I am fat and ugly... or I am fat and am ugly?

It's a short sentence so I think "I am fat and ugly" is correct.

How about when it's a longer sentence like: I am looking to see if there are any volunteers and am finding none at this moment.

Is it correct to include "am" after and?

confused...
