I am done, or It is done.

Hi,

I searched this website, but haven't found a thread that talked about the question I want to pose.

My kid asked me to seal a plastic bag for him. After I did that, can I say "It is done" or "I am done" ?

Thank you.

Stephen

You can say either. In ordinary, informal English, you'd contract them down to "It's done" and "I'm done", or use the word "finished." If you wanted to, you could just say "Finished!" or "Done!"

"Finished" or "Done".

Each of them is equivalent to an expression in my native language, which can be translated literally "Good".

Finally, I find the concise expressions.

Thank you very much.
