I am determined vs I have determined

"I have determined that you are my best friend" vs "I am determined that you are my best friend"

which is correct?

Top answer

Well, neither is a natural utterance, but presumably you mean the first. The second, which carries a different meaning, should be written like this: I am determined that you be / are to be my best friend.
