I am confused with which to use have or has?

for example:
People who argue that woman cannot be more pregnant than another HAVE never been nine-months pregnant with twins.

How come they didn't use "Has"

Thank you for your help

I think it's have because "have" refers to people, not to woman.

You are also confused when to use Why. How come is not proper grammar.

But 'how come' is frequently used in speech. Informal does not necessarily mean incorrect.

Hi

have refers to people so it's plural! "Woman" is however not correct in this sentence, it should either be women in plural or a/one woman if it's singular.
