I agree

Hello everyone:)!

I've just read in a post this expression, I think it was an expression. "I second what Anne said", does it mean "I agree with what Anne said"?

Time ago I read in another post with "Amen" as an answer, does it mean "I agree" too?
Is there any other way to say "I agree"?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Pucca, "I second" = "I support": when someone proposes a course of action in a meeting, or a motion in a debate, someone else might say "I second that", or simply "seconded", to register support. ". "I think so too" is a fairly common phrase, to express agreement.

Hello Pucca,

"Amen" concludes prayers, etc., and implies "Let it be so!".

Hello Pucca,

I attended a church service once where it soon became clear that "amen" mean "Oh yes, I certainly agree with that!" It seemed to have expanded it's meaning to "I understand you."

I was walking along, it was dark, and I was scared...

- Amen

And then I felt the power of *** protecting me...

- Amen!

And I knew if I put my trust in ***, he would see m
