'I admit it, that I was scared.'

'I admit it, that I was scared.'

I have seen the sentence in a movie and is there a reason or meaning difference from 'I admit that I was scared'?

What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much as usual in advance!

It's a pretty bad sentence, but I think it's forgivable in spoken English.

In careful English, it should be "I admit that I was scared" (as you suggest), or possibly "I admit it—I was scared."
