Hypothetical situation

Hypothetically speaking:

If we went into business together and end up opening our own brick and mortar store we could then go straight to the source and get the products from them.

VS

If we go into business together and end up opening our own brick and mortar store we can then go straight to the source and get the products from them.

Do I have to use the past tense since it's a hypothetical?
