hypothetical sentences in the future (nonstandard?/Irish?)
Hi,
Here is a quote from an interview with a model
_Interviewer: If you could create your own chocolates, what would you call them? Model: Delicious Dudleys and then there was like caramel._
The model talks about a hypothetical situation in the future. In 'textbook English' the sentence would go more like this: "... and there would be like caramel"
Why does he say 'was'? Is it colloquial or dialectal maybe?(the speaker is Irish)
