Hypothetical sentence

Hello everyone. Can anyone explain to me what does "Hypothetical" means? I applied a job and got a question like this: "Give me an example of hypothetical sentence." I have no idea and hope to learn about this. Thanks

Hello, babe - and welcome to English Forums. In grammar, probably the most common hypothetical sentence is one with an 'if' clause. The event mentioned has not occurred or may not occur, but it might or might have occurred (that is, hypothetically or possibly) if something else acted as cause: If this storm continues, we'll all drown.
