Hypothetical?

His “boys” were both older than Catelyn, and she might have wished that they did not take after their father quite so closely.
(Game of Thrones)

The context is Lord Wyman sent his two sons to escort Catelyn to meet her son. Wyman was an extremely fat guy and Catelyn hoped his two sons were not as fat as their father.

Hi. Does the "might have" refers to an imagined past situation (i.e. If she had been asked about her opinions, she might have wished that they did not take after their father quite so closely)? If so, I think "could have" and "would have" also work here, right?

It just refers to a past possibility; something which may have happened. In other words:

It is possible that she wished they did not take
