Hyphens plural-singular

I understand using a hyphen like this: That 100-foot whale is huge! Even though the whale is 100 feet (feet being plural) we use the singular term foot because the whale is singular (not actually sure if that is right, that is just how I understand it.

My question is how many hyphens should be used for something like "2-ton-100-foot whale" or is it "2-ton, 100-foot whale"?

2-ton, 100-foot whale would be correct. They are two distinct adjectives for one whale.
