Hyphenated phrase question

Hello,

Is it necessary to use the hyphens in the following sentence?

"When separating parents are deciding on child arrangements, some may focus on the every-other-weekend-and-one-night-in-the-week scenario. "

I think it's technically right, but it seems like a little too much to me.

Thank you
