Hyphenated and "in-quotes" adjectives: Place comma?

Hi,
When you are using a long hyphenated phrase or a quoted content as an adjective, should we (I?) treat it as coordinating or distintively different? Should we (I?) place comma?

his bad "macho man" attitude has gotten him into trouble many times in his younger days.

Her tender I-care-for-you attitude has earned her many praises.
