Hurt, sound + ing?

Is it possible to use these verbs 'sound' and 'hurt' in the Continuous Tenses? Are these sentences correct? My leg has been hurting since Monday. There was music sounding from the house.' Help, please. I am at a loss.

The sentence, "My leg has been hurting since Monday.", is correct.

The sentence, "There was music sounding from the house.", is theoretically correct from a purely grammatical point of view, but awkward. You'd say this as: "There was music coming from the house." However, "sounding" can be used in other situations, for example: "That new number you've been rehearsing is sounding great
