hurt

I hurt my ankle while playing basketball with my boyfriend. I'm at the airport talking to the airport attendant and I request for a wheelchair. I say:

I can walk but I will hurt myself even more. OR

I could walk but I would hurt myself even more.

Would it be okay to use the second conditional if I'm adamant on getting that wheelchair?

Are both useable and interchangeable?

What's the difference?

Thanks!
