hurt

I can’t carry the box. My arm ___. (A) is hurting (B) hurts (C) was hurt (D) hurted

The answer is B, but I think A is also correct. C is acceptable in some context. Can any native speaker of English make some comments?

I agree that a or b are acceptable. c also sounds ok but needs to be followed by something 'I can't carry the box. ' D is the only one that is absolutely unusable.
