I heard that it is illegal to hunt camels in Arizona. Are there any camels there? Why can't people do that?

The army imported some camels before the Civil War. It was an experimental program to move freight and men in the desert. A few of the camels got loose but I'm sure they are all dead by now. Here is a link to an article with more about it.
