If I want to ask someone in the contest "how it's going for you" that way is correct?

As for writing "there are advances" is that correctly written? (progress as for the process of trying to hack the system)

As for writing "there are advances" is that correctly written? (progress as for the process of trying to hack the system) We're making some headway / some progress in some groups. (I think you mean 'groups of numbers'.)
