However vs however...still

Hello everyone,

I am currently studying how to show contrast when the result obtained is not expected. While studying, I came across two structures that apparently have the same meaning but I am still doubtful about it.

Do the sentences below have the same meaning?

A) It was cold. However, I went swimming
B) It was cold. However, I still went swimming

If not, It would be of great help if you could explain.

Thank you in advance,
E-

Hi Clive,

Thank you for your quick reply. So, is it possible to say "It was cold. Nevertheless, I still went swimming"?

Yes, it can be uttered this way as well without any difference in meaning.
